Hello, I’m glad you’re here. Welcome to my first post. Let’s hope someday, I’ll look back on this and laugh uncontrollably.
She is not amused.*
It seems like it has taken me forever to create this blog. You’d understand if you ever talked with my brother Matt. He once claimed I needed a Fischer Price computer. He was joking. At least, I think he was.
I started thinking about blogging 7 months ago. After selling my business, in May of 2010, I was looking for a new creative venture (within 3 weeks). Some people flip houses, I guess you might say that I flip businesses. I’ve flipped one or two. Okay, three really.
After discovering the world of blogging when writing for a Pet Industry publication, I was hooked. I decided to share my passion for good design, with a decidedly Canine twist, and created the Interior Design Hound.
My passion for good design includes: art, antiques, fashion, interior design, home décor, gifts & accessories, and beautiful books. I love it all. I might throw in a little history too, and of course, it just wouldn’t be a party without good food.

We’re pretty laid back here at the Interior Design Hound, so please; make yourself at home. Relax, get comfortable, curl up with your Dogs, and feel free to Contact us and let us know what’s you think. Be kind. We’re a work in progress. I say “we” because even on rainy days I have a shadow: an adopted Scottie Dog named Taffy.
I hope you’ll be inspired & visit often. You can also chat with us on facebook. Please, we need friends…we just created our facebook page! (Taffy made me say that. She is pretty good at begging.)
Later, I’ve got to let the Dog out…
*Photo: The woman in the above photograph is the eccentric art collector & patron Peggy Guggenheim. Nicknamed the “Dograesse of Venice,” she is on the roof of her Venetian palazzo holding three of her loyal companions. The Italians referred to her as “L’Americana con I cani,” or “The American with the dogs.” Guggenheim was always accompanied by her Dogs. Always. Everywhere. Even in death. Fifteen of Guggenheim’s Dogs are buried next to her. The Dogs are listed by their names spanning 1949 to 1979 with the engraved plaque reading: “My Beloved Babies.” Image: by David Seymour, 1950.
