I just returned from speaking at BarkWorld, the Pet Social Media Conference & Expo in Atlanta…
BarkWorld Social Petworking Conference
My first BarkWorld experience was a real treat, thanks to Denise Quashie & her amazing team. They certainly know a thing or two about Southern Hospitality!
BarkWorld was held in the chic Midtown area of Atlanta, at the well-designed & stylish Loew’s Hotel.
If you’ve never stayed at a Loew’s Hotel, here’s a something you should know:
Loew’s Hotel in Midtown Atlanta
Seriously… Dogs can order room service!
Denise Quashie, BarkWorld’s founder, must have ordered the picture-perfect weather along with her Dog’s room service because it was beautiful in Atlanta every single day.
Dogs could check out the stunning Atlanta views from the Woof-top…

The Loew’s Hotel Woof-top was a busy spot during BarkWorld.
Lucky Dogs that attended BarkWorld were lapping up their luxurious surroundings while running around on the Woof-top at the Doggy Day Camp, provided by Best Friends Pet Care.
The Pups felt so at home you’d think they drank their water from custom ice sculptures every day!
My Scottie Dog wasn’t with me, so in-between the seminars, book signings and all of the activities I’d head out to watch the Dogs running around & playing high above Atlanta.
I fell in love with Ossian, an adorable St. Bernard from Kentucky, and too many other Dogs to mention.
But the Dogs weren’t the only ones enjoying frozen treats…
BarkWorld had Atlanta’s famous King of Pops dishing out his hand-crafted popsicles while Victoria Stilwell signed her book It’s Me or The Dog.
FYI: Chocolate Sea Salt, a gourmet take on the fudgesicle, was Dog-gone delicious!
Victoria Stilwell, a fellow Pet Life Radio host and the star of Animal Planet’s It’s Me or The Dog, gave an inspiring presentation…

My presentation on Pet Friendly Decorating was part of BarkWorld’s new series on Pawsitive Lifestyles.
Design is in the details and no detail of BarkWorld was overlooked.
Knowing what an Interior Design Hound I am, Denise made sure the conference room’s interior coordinated with my Doggie bags.
The table drapes were dyed-to-match, I swear!

Since it was the first day of October when I presented Decorating Dog Tricks, Creating a Pet Friendly Home, I made sure to include a few treats along with my decorating tricks.
Planet Dog, the socially conscious Canine company that personifies good design, generously donated the perfect Pet treats for October…

There’s nothing more spooktacular than playing fetch with a glow-in-the-dark ball for Halloween, is there?
Planet Dog’s durable Glow for Good Ball was designed to float, bounce, keep your Dog’s breath minty fresh and benefit the Planet Dog Foundation which funds the training, support and placement of Dogs in need.
I’d say that’s pretty S W E E T!
Speaking of sweet, I included Halloween candy for the attendees and Planet Dog provided samples of their 100% natural Dog treats for the four-legged friends.
With flavors like Chicken & Pumpkin Pot Pie and Peanut Butter & Jelly with Wild Maine Blueberries, I’d say Planet Dog will have tails wagging, so check ‘em out.

It was great meeting so many Design Hounds face-to-face. I met Dog lovers & Pet bloggers from all over the country and even Brazil.
Dianne Silver, of the To Dog With Love blog, was an absolute riot! While her Havanese Cosmo was on the Woof-top, his stand-in and alter-ego attended all of the sessions…

Dianne had a “Flat Cosmo” Dog in tow whose picture was taken in all of the right places. (Here’s how to create your own Flat Pet.)
There were even a few Fashion Hounds running around BarkWorld…
Like the gang that was all ears from DogBff.com, and the Fashion Hound in pink whose photo was taken by Petco’s Daniel Sundin.
I think Taffy wants to go next year…
Later, I’ve got to let the Dog out,

Taffy, our charming
