Highlighting a Happy Color Trend: Yellow + Gray for Décor + DOGS

You can’t find a more optimistic color than yellow.

The color can brighten up a room like sunshine, even when it’s cold & gray outside.

When paired together Yellow + Gray pack one powerful punch!

The color combination is fresh, modern and surprisingly sophisticated if used in the right doses.

Just take a look at this furniture vignette from the recent High Point Market:

The Yellow + Gray room setting was a show stopper at Hickory Chair.

Classic Greek key patterns, bold stripes and Apollo & Venus silhouettes added plenty of panache to the upholstery.

Love, love, LOVE the Hickory Chair lacquer chest.

The fabrics are from the exciting, new home collection created by Interior Designer Tobi Fairley.

Not familiar with Tobi?  She’s one of the leaders of the pack when it comes to decorating and her pack includes two Dogs:

Harley & Sydney.

You could say Tobi Fairley is the Master of the Hounds: Interior Design Hounds.

She’s a true original that’s often imitated, but never duplicated.

The amazing Chinoiserie lantern above is also from Tobi Fairley’s home collection.

Check out the Dog-loving designer’s blog here; it’s one of my regular reads.

Yellow is such a happy color, it’s only natural that it appears in Mr. Happy Chic’s line…

If you’ve ever kicked around London on the underground & their public transportation system, you’ll appreciate this new design from the Day Tripper Collection.

Created in conjunction with the London Transport Museum, the whimsical Yellow + Gray wallpaper pattern is made of tickets!

You didn’t think I’d forget Pets, did you?

My favorite Yellow + Gray Pet product is this eco-friendly, cotton stripe sweater.

My Dog Taffy is not one to wear a sweater, but I like it anyway!

Many companies geared the “Color-Box Factory” trend to a “young, loft-living demographic.”

I think every house could use a little pop of color, don’t you?  Even Dog houses.
