The Heads & Tails of Dog Tables: Dog Motif Furnishings for Decorating

There’s no better way to add personality to a room than with accessories that refect your interests.  And if you’re reading this, you must love Dogs.

Whether new, vintage or antique; you can find furniture designs featuring a Dog motif.

Here’s an Italian Greyhound pedestal table that certainly makes a statement:

The Dog is doing a balancing act with a table-top perched perfectly on his head.

Notice the real Pup’s look.  He must be wondering how the Greyhound remains so still with a table-top on his head.

Don’t fret if you’re not into Italian Greyhounds.

The craftsmen at K. Spiegelman can create a special, one-of-a-kind Canine Table in the likeness of your Dog!

If you happen to be in Southen California, check out the K. Spiegelman showroom in Beverley Hills.  You’ll be welcomed at the front door by a pack of well-trained Italian Greyhounds.

The Dogs have been carved & polished to perfection to serve as a base for this center table…

I’ve noticed many modern Dogs mascarading as pedestal tables.

The legendary antiques dealer Amy Perlin had a whisical French composition Greyhound, from the 1960’s.

Rachel Shorr, Amy Perlin’s neice,  has recreated the Greyhound.  The Dog side table is available in her new gallery Démiurge.

Available in custom colors to suite any décor, the Greyhound has a price tag of $5000.

You can fetch the pair of heavy metal Dogs below for $3200…

Made of bronze, the design inspiration for the new pair of Italian Greyhounds was an antique statue.

Hounds definitely seem to be the Dog of choice for the designs…check out this pair of Palm Beach Pups…

The regal Italian Greyhounds have their original gold & silver gilt finish from the mid-20th century.

Very detailed right down to the Dog Collar, I’m sure these Greyhounds will find a home soon.

They really need one, because they do not look too happy…

Maitland Smith was the maker of the Whippet coffee table seen below.

The vintage bronze table has a trio of Dogs sharing the weight of the glass top.

My Dog Taffy is living proof that not all Dogs can be trained to balance objects on their heads.

Take this playful puppy of an occasional table:

Rolf obviously barks to the beat of a different drum.  I find that refreshing.

So, heads or tails…which Dog table is your favorite?

Later, I’ve got to let the Dog out,

DOGS Forecast for Interior Design Hounds: White Out!

I’m afraid the forecast is looking pretty frosty…

There’s a whiteout on its way.

WHITE DOG MALTESE

White Dogs of every shape and size have left their paw prints on the home décor scene.

I’m sure you’ve probably seen a Dog or two hanging around…

Greyhounds & Whippets are very popular thanks to Kelly Werstler.

The Hollywood designer is the leader-of-the-pack for creating Modern Glamour with porcelain Dogs, and the trend is here to stay.

Here’s a Dog Werstler placed at the Viceroy Palm Springs:

The life-size Dogs can make quite a statement flanking a fireplace like these Hip Hounds in a contemporary apartment designed by Jonathan Adler:

Standing guard, the Dogs take on a regal air with their high gloss finish.

The Greyhound  below seems to be asking himself:

“Just what exactly do you store in a Lucite chest of drawers that won’t look messy?”

Evidently nothing.

Just as in real life, some Hounds think adding BLING to everything is adding style.

Greyhounds & Whippets are not the only Dog breeds experiencing the whiteout.

Here’s a white Boxer Puppy that looks like he’s ready to pounce…

And this Dachshund makes a stylish Dog dish…

Basset Hounds have also joined the whiteout trend…
