This week I catch up with the talented, Dog-loving Interior Designer Susan Jamieson for a colorful interview that you won’t want to miss on Decorating Tails, the Pet Friendly Radio Podcast on Pet Life Radio.
I hope you’ll tune in to join us!
Just how much of a Dog lover is the globe-trotting Interior Designer and founder of Bridget Beari Designs? I’ll let you decide…but here are some clues:

- Susan’s Interior Design Firm is named after two Dogs: “Bridget & Beari.”
- In Susan’s new paint collection, Bridget Beari Colors, you’ll notice more than a few colors inspired by her four-legged friends. One of my favorite colors is “Wagging White.”
- Along with fabric samples and floorplans, you’re sure to find a few Design Animals running around her studio in Richmond, Virginia.
Interior Design Hound Susan M. Jamison
I’d have to say that qualifies Susan as a full-fledged Interior Design Hound!
Awarded Richmond, Virginia’s Top Dog of Interior Design by R Home Magazine, Susan is as full of Southern charm as her interiors…
As an Interior Designer, Susan believes in re-using furniture and family pieces rather than starting from scratch. Isn’t that refreshing?
Susan also practices what she preaches. Her Grandmother’s sofa above was given a modern makeover to fit her modern lifestyle.
If you recognize the picture, you might have seen it Traditional Home. The magazine featured Susan Jamieson’s home & Bridget Beari Designs in one of its issues.
While the Interior Designer is all about modern conveniences….
Susan is comfortable working in any style from ultra-contemporary to traditional.
The design goal for Bridget Beari Designs is to create spaces that are beautiful, livable and functional for everyone who lives in them.
That includes the four-legged members of the family!

That’s why I’m such a fan.
Susan’s well-planned & stylish interiors always have loads of storage space worked into her floorplans. Like me, she likes to take advantage of every square inch of floor space.

While some designers follow trends and show more concern for “looks” than function, that’s never the case with Susan.
Whether creating a design for a living room in Virginia, an apartment in Palm Beach or a vacation home in a far-flung locale like Costa Rica, Susan and her team at Bridget Beari Designs are up to the task.
Known for her keen sense of color, Susan has just finished creating the Bridget Beari Colors paint collection.
Developed with Fine Paints of Europe, the quality is unsurpassed. If the paint is good enough for George Washington’s home, Mount Vernon, just imagine how good your home will look!
Design Tip # 521:
There is nothing more expensive than cheap paint!
Susan Jamieson tackled her paint collection with the same level of enthusiasm & detail that she gives every project.
20+ years of design experience, careful study, a strong sense of style and a BIG dollop of whimsy went into developing the 76 colors in the Bridget Beari Colors line of paint.
Is whimsy a necessary ingredient for paint?
If you’re Susan Jamieson it certainly is!
Why have “white” when you can have Wagging White? Why, indeed. Susan named all 76 colors after Pets.

The Pet names came from Dogs, cats, and even horses of clients, friends & family. Of course Lulabelle, Susan’s Shar-Pei, got her paw into the act. The Dog is quite the Interior Design Hound, you know.
